A Journey Into Sensuality and Connection
What happens when touch becomes more than just physical? For Jordan, a young bodyworker seeking a deeper connection to his sensuality and sexuality, the Massage Practitioner Training (MPT) became a transformative journey that reshaped his perspective on intimacy, personal relationships, and professional practice.
In this interview, he shares his personal journey—how he stepped into intimacy, learned to embrace his desires, and discovered new ways to connect with others. From moments of profound self-discovery to challenges of adaptation, his story illustrates the richness of this journey. Whether you’re a seasoned bodyworker or simply curious about mindful, erotic touch, Jordan’s reflections may inspire you to take the leap yourself.
Artjom: Hi Jordan, please introduce yourself. Who are you, and what inspired you to sign up for the Massage Practitioner Training?
Jordan: Hello, my name is Jordan, and I already work as a bodyworker. Being a gay man, I was really inspired to dive into sensuality and create a better connection with my own sexuality. I wanted to explore what it means to connect with other gay men, which was something that was really lacking in my life.
Artjom: Did you have any "aha" moments during the training? Especially coming from a bodywork background, was there anything new that made you think, "Ah, this is it"?
Jordan: There were countless moments where I was mind-blown by the embodiment, attunement, and being so connected to the person—whether on the table or the receiving end. Traditionally, in my work as a massage therapist, it's almost very disconnected, like a typical Swedish massage. But now, with Tantra, it’s like, "Whoa, I can be very present, very in my body, and also in this experience with someone else."

Artjom: How did your perspective change from the beginning of the training, especially in terms of how you see massage as an art form?
Jordan: My perspective changed in how I connect with the world and the people in it. I’ve realized I can be softer, more gentle, and more present. At its heart, it's so simple—staying with my breath, staying with my body, and holding that space for others. This has changed not just my sex life but also how I connect with my friends, loved ones, and lovers. It’s really powerful.
Artjom: Do you already give Tantra sessions? Have you had the chance to implement what you learned?
Jordan: Yes, I’ve definitely started incorporating some breathing techniques in a lighter way during my craniosacral therapy sessions. I’ve also begun practicing Tantra with two clients, which has been lovely. It’s exciting to see how it progresses and to explore what works and what doesn’t. Each session is so different.
Artjom: When you say Tantra, what does ‘Tantra’ mean to you? How do you understand it?
Jordan: Tantra is about fully surrendering to yourself, being attuned to your own experience, and creating a space to be held, loved, nurtured, seen, and heard. That’s something we don’t often experience in our lives or allow ourselves to experience. Tantra can make anything and everything an experience. It’s incredible.
Artjom: Do you find it difficult to explain Tantra to others or how do you usually deal with their initial reactions?
Jordan: It’s a hot topic, and people often associate Tantra with sex or other taboo things. I break it down into pieces and ask them questions about their sensuality, sexuality, and love life. What do they desire more of? From there, I explain how aspects of Tantra can support them. Eventually, I describe what happens in a session and how it’s reflective of them.
Artjom: Regarding the training, were there any challenging moments? How did you deal with them?
Jordan: The challenging moments were mostly cultural or language barriers. Coming from America, it was unique to learn this practice in a predominantly German environment, even though everything was in English. But it was beautiful to adapt and let the subtleties of communication unfold within the group.
Artjom: Did you have any doubts or moments when you thought about quitting?
Jordan: No, I knew this was what I wanted. Each module was transformative, and though there were moments of doubt—like feeling less connected or attuned in some sessions—I learned that not everything works for everyone, and that’s okay. It’s a good practice to hold space for those moments.

Artjom: If it doesn’t click with a client, how do you cope with that?
Jordan: I usually start by talking about it with the client to see if we can work around it. If not, it’s okay to accept that we can’t meet each other’s needs. It’s important to hold space for myself and the client in such cases.
Artjom: Did you find any specific techniques in the training that you particularly connected with?
Jordan: I really loved anything related to the lingam or anus. These practices have been transformative, even in how I masturbate. I’ve become slower, more gentle, and more playful. It’s less about rushing to orgasm and more about enjoying the process.
Artjom: Looking at the future, do you see yourself incorporating this into your professional work or keeping it more private?
Jordan: Both. I want to use it in my private life with lovers and selectively in my professional practice. I’ll continue offering traditional massage while slowly opening up space for Tantra within my work.
Artjom: If someone is used to traditional massage but wants to explore Tantra, how would you describe the difference?
Jordan: It’s much more intimate. It’s about shared experience—taking our clothes off, entering a shared bubble, and connecting on a deeper level. It’s tricky because most of my traditional clients are women, so I’m not at the point of offering Yoni massage yet. But I’m open to it in the future.
Artjom: What would you tell someone interested in this training?
Jordan: Don’t overthink it. If you let it ruminate in your mind, you’ll drive yourself crazy. Just dive in.
Artjom: How did you find out about this training in the first place?
Jordan: Through my ex-partner, who is now a friend. He told me about one of the weekend workshops the organization offered. When I saw they had a full course, I was drawn to the structured modules and the fact that they were all tied together in one year.
Artjom: You’re quite young. How does it feel to be among people of different generations in this context?
Jordan: Being 23, I have a youthful perspective, but it’s very healing. I usually surround myself with older, wiser, and more embodied people. This training gave me the opportunity to heal as a gay man and find shared experiences with other gay men. It’s such a unique space where I didn’t feel alone.

Artjom: The modules were held in different parts of Germany. How did you find the travel?
Jordan: It was a lot of travel, but I loved seeing different parts of Germany and experiencing the seasons. Coming from Tucson, Arizona, I’m used to the desert, but I made sure to pack warm clothes and adapt.
Artjom: The training included larger group events, like the Summer Evolution Festival. How was that for you?
Jordan: Life-changing. I’d never been in a group of all gay men before, and I felt so safe. That safety allowed me to open up and be vulnerable. I also remember being paired with someone more advanced, which was inspiring and taught me so much. The festival and workshops offered so many opportunities to learn and grow.
Artjom: What was one of the most inspiring moments for you?
Jordan: Standing in the final circle with all these men I had built deep connections with over the past year. I don’t often take time to think about when I last felt true love, but in that moment, I felt it. It was a beautiful opportunity to reflect and feel deeply connected.
