Why the winter retreat is the most valuable trip for the end of the year
Since 2005, at Gay Love Spirit we have been working to create special spaces for men. Since 2008, with our winter retreat, we have created a unique space to end the year in a profound and connected way. Our journey has taken us from Berlin, through Strausberg and Voglehof, to the mighty Odenwald, to a simple rural schoolhouse that offers exactly what we need: authenticity and the opportunity to focus on the essentials.
Can you convince me to go to Winter Eros?
Imagine trading the superficial hustle and bustle of New Year's Eve and crowded parties for six days that have only one goal: YOU. This retreat is not comparable to a luxury trip, it is not a gay cruise, because here it is about something much more valuable: truly taking care of yourself, living in community, and pursuing your desires and longings in a safe space that respects your boundaries.
Our team of coaches will accompany you on a journey that begins with connecting with yourself. What is really important to you? In a world that is searching for new ways of living, we create a warm and authentic space where you can explore just that.
What specifically awaits you:
You will belong to a “family,” your safe haven during the week. The days begin with meditation, yoga, and bodywork to connect with the body. At our basic youth center, it's not about comfort, but about connection. We learn together to take care of ourselves and each other. Then, in small groups, we immerse ourselves in the practice of tantra: we playfully learn new forms of communication, explore sensory massage rituals, and work with our sensual energy. The afternoons are devoted to magical group rituals, in which we feel and celebrate our collective power.
It's about Eros: the art of celebrating vital energy.
It is not primarily about sex, but about Eros, the life-affirming force that awakens sensuality, connection, and the joy of living in all of us. It is about awakening and channeling your life energy in the simplicity of nature. It is about a spirituality that can be very earthy and also playful. It is about finding your next step in the stillness of winter and the warmth of community, whether in the search for love, a deeper connection, or simply yourself or a wonderful time together.
